Moms Weekend
April 20-22, 2012
Bring the whole family to campus to enjoy Moms Weekend with your student! Most activities do not require registration, so be sure to check the Calendar of Events below for details on each event. With so many different activities planned, there will be something of interest for everyone; musicals, craft fairs, flower shows, art exhibits, vocal performances and athletic events galore.

Explore Illinois
Moms Weekend begins with the 4th annual Explore Illinois reception on Friday April 20, from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. At Explore Illinois, you will get the opportunity to look through a multitude of interactive booths that highlight groups on campus that are entertaining, informative, and a great example of the wide breadth of amazing groups, research, and programs on campus! In addition to the interactive exhibits, student entertainment groups will be performing, and refreshments & appetizers will be served.
Amelia Alpiner Stern Mom of the Year
One Mom will be awarded the prestigious Amelia Alpiner Stern Mom of the Year Award. Named for the founder of the Moms Association, this award recognizes the support, encouragement, and inspiration that Moms offer their students. The award highlights the diverse contributions of all Illinois Moms and honors a very special Mom each year with a small token of our appreciation. The Mom of the Year is announced at Explore Illinois on April 20. Read about the nominees and finalists!
Annual Meeting
The Moms Association Board of Directors extends an invitation for you to join them on Saturday morning for the Moms Association Annual Meeting: Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 9:15am, Illini Union Room 210.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about what you can do to be involved in the outstanding work of this organization. The 2012-13 Board of Directors will be elected and the Moms Association will recognize several award recipients: the Medallion of Honor recipient for her dedication and service to the students and to the Illinois community, the Amelia Alpiner Stern Mom of the Year, the Humanitarian Award recipients for their innovation and dedication in community service, and the Illini Spirit Award recipient.
IUB Moms Day Craft Fair
Plan on attending a Moms Weekend favorite, the Illini Union Board's Moms Day Craft Fair, held in the Illini Union on Saturday, April 21, starting at 10:00am. Browse the booths of dozens of different craft vendors and make sure to stop by the Moms Association Sales table. This year we hope to be kicking off the sales of our Moms Association Cookbook! All proceeds of the Moms Association support University of Illinois students and parents.
Want to meet your fellow moms? Learn more about the Association? Just visit with the other moms for an hour? Volunteer at the Moms Association Sales table. If you have questions or want to volunteer, contact uofiparents@illinois.edu.

Parking Information:
Parking on weekends is free in many of the parking garages and employee parking lots. Two of the garages closest to the Illini Union are on the corners of Fifth and Daniel and John and Sixth Streets, both in Champaign, 1-2 blocks west of the Illini Union. Please see our Parking Information Page for more information or the University's Parking Department website.
Hotel Information:
For hotel information, we recommend the Champaign County Convention and Visitors Bureau website. They have a helpful listing of accommodations including amenities.
