2012 Humanitarian Service Award Recipients



Sara Khosravinasr

Sara Khosravinasr is the 2012 graduate recipient of the Moms Association Humanitarian Award. Ms. Khosravinasr is a graduate student in the department of Kinesiology and Community Health, with a focus on counseling for individuals with disabilities. Committed to addressing obesity, she created a cellphone application that helps people record their physical activities and daily nutrition intake to control their weight. She is committed to improving the quality of life and health for disabled children and adults, holding a certificate in hydrotherapy and volunteering with organizations that help people with cancer.

Regina Hinders

Regina Hinders is the 2012 undergraduate recipient of the Moms Association Humanitarian Award. In high school, Ms. Hinders started her own not-for-profit business—Regina Hinders Headbands—through which she creates and sells unique headbands and hair bows. She donates all profits to women in crisis pregnancies seeking aid through Catholic Charities in Champaign.  Through her efforts, Ms. Hinders has raised over $2,000. Ms. Hinders is also a tutor for children and has received numerous awards and scholarships for her leadership and service.
