Dads Association
at the University of Illinois
The Dads Association was formed in 1922 for "the purpose of promoting the general welfare of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in cooperation with its faculty, staff, students, and parents." The Dads Association is an incorporated, nonprofit association and was one of the first parent organizations in the country.
When your student accepts admission to the University of Illinois, you are officially a member of the Dads Association. (Likewise, there is a Moms Association in which mothers are automatically a member when their student accepts admission.) There are a lot of ways to get involved once you become part of the University of Illinois community. Below you will find a list of ways to be involved in the Dads Association, information about Dads Weekend - which all Dads Association members and their families are invited to, and a list of the Awards that the Association gives out.
Also, the Illini Union Parent Programs Office teams up with the Dads and Moms Associations to provide you helpful information about the University, about dealing with the transistion of your student coming to college, and much more! The Dads Association wants you to enjoy these years as your student gets his or her education at the University of Illinois, and wants to provide you with the resources and opportunities to make it the best 4 (or more) years it can be!
